Logic 9 is our Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) of choice because of its long list of great integrated plug-ins and wonderful composer's environment for complex midi and audio editing.

We run logic node on our 3 computers so they can be separate workstations our grouped together to create a powerful integrated workstation.

We have the equipment to compose and mix a project in stereo (i.e. Timeless City) or 5.1 surround (i.e. Living Death Valley)

East West Quantum Leap – Symphonic Gold - StormDrum2 - Silk - Ra - FabFour

We use the East-West libraries for their unsurpassed realism and quality. The Symphonic and Stormdrum libraries are standards in the industry. The Silk and Ra libraries give us the give us the ability to create very colorful and realistic world music instruments. We use these libraries in nearly all our productions. Native Instruments, komplete package gives us access to an amazing array of synths and samplers, that can create a wide variety of soundscapes for film and standard song work.

Boulder Sounds – EXS24 & Kontact sample libraies

They are a smaller company that's been around for along time. Their samples and granular synth sounds always seems to find a way into our scores and other projects. Listen to Living Death Valley and Timeless City and you will hear some of Boulder Sounds samples.

Spectronics – Stylus RMX

We have recently added the Stylus RMX and its many libraries to give us a modern sophisticated loop based compositional tool.

Virsyn – Poseidon

A Great little synth for creating very unique evolving soundscapes. We use it a lot in scoring for pads and ambient backdrops.

Modartt – Pianoteq 3

Even though this is a wonderful physical modeling piano. John Kilburn uses it a lot because the virtual piano can be tweaked into interesting sounding shapes. It also has a great microtonal capability and used with scala files it opens up many great sonic palettes

We use real instruments on many of our scores and other music tracks. Sometimes tracks are completely real instruments and sometimes they are combined with virtual instruments to create interesting hybrids. All our music sounds natural and organic even when we combine diverse elements. John, being a multi-instrumentalist that plays in many styles, almost always adds real instruments that he plays to the songs and scores he composes.

John Kilburn – 7 string classical, acoustic, electric & jazz guitars, 10 string lapsteel, electric bass, mandolin, mandola, cavaquinho, ukelele, native flutes, piano, vocals

When projects call for soloing instrumentalists, John works with a number of players:

Woodwinds (Gene Doi & others) - soprano sax, alto sax, tenor sax, baritone sax, flute, clarinet

When budget projects call for real classical instruments, we use players from The Fresno Philharmonic:

Woodwinds – flute, alto flute, piccolo, clarinet, oboe, english horn,
Strings – violin, viola, cello, bass

Percussion & Drums –we have 2 great drum kit, djembe, tablas, various percussion players on call.

Vocals & percussion - in house we have Paola Staeblein – vocals, Brazilian percussion (pandeiro, tambourin, berimbau, shakers) and Sofia Nazaretian – vocals, djembe, various percussion

World Instruments – we have access to a variety of world instrument players including middle eastern, asian, and southeast asian instrumentalists
