Bio of Paola Staeblein
Paola Staeblein was born and raised in Rio
de Janeiro - Brazil. She grew up on the
beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema,
absorbing the soulful sounds of the rich
musical culture of bossa nova, samba and
choro. She has been singing since early
childhood in various vocal performing
groups, one of which won a national vocal
group award.
In the mid 80's, she worked as a photo
model and her clients included Criativa
Magazine and IBM.
Paola has been the lead singer and
percussionist for the music group
Tocanto Jazz
since
1999. She has performed in a
variety of settings and venues around
Yosemite National Park, Fresno and the
San Francisco Bay Area along with some
of the foremost jazz musicians from the
California Central Valley.
Paola has been living in California since
1990 where, in addition to performing as a
singer, she has also been working as a
Voice-over artist, interpreter and
translator for the past 15 years through
her company, Prolingua.
Paola is a practitioner and advocate of
community living. She is a lover of nature
and enjoys hiking and swimming in the creek
of Three
Springs, an intentional
community she created in the Sierra
foothills. Besides her commitment to
community living, her service work is
focused on promoting/organizing
Heart of Now
workshops
and helping run The North Fork
Studio, a non-profit
Community Center in town. She is
committed to learning and growing
spiritually in this lifetime through
mindful living, Vipassana
meditation
and yoga.
